SCSU ALUMNI BAND ASSOCIATION PRESENTS THE 2nd ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT!

Please join us on the green, homecoming weekend, Friday, October 3, 2025 in the 2nd Annual SCSU Alumni Golf Tournament! This is directly benefiting SCSU Alumni Band Foundation dba SCSU Alumni Band Association ("ABA"), providing students with band uniforms and instruments but also other monetary needs of the University Band Program! We're starting off with a Shotgun Start 10:00 am!

Dive into the vibrant history of the "Cookie Monster Golf Tournament," a captivating event born from the spirit of camaraderie and tradition. It all began on a memorable homecoming Friday in 2023, when an eclectic mix of band alumni from the golden decades of the '70s and '80s gathered for a unique celebration. This wasn't just any gathering; it was a moment of unity, sparked by their shared love for music and nostalgia. The tournament, whimsically named in honor of Tyrone Singleton (F75)'s beloved crab, Cookie Monster, quickly became more than a friendly round of golf. Tyrone, a host with a heart for giving, saw an opportunity to transform this reunion into a meaningful cause. Together with the ABA, discussions flourished about creating an event that would not only celebrate their bond but also support the future of the University Band Program. Thus, the "Cookie Monster Golf Tournament" was born, marking the start of an exciting journey to give back through the power of fellowship and the love of the game. Join us in celebrating this remarkable initiative, where every swing brings us closer to nurturing the talents of young musicians and keeping the legacy of the band alive.
