There isn’t a day that goes by when we don’t think of Jacob. In the beginning, getting out of bed took everything we had. After a while, his dad, Lance, started a group text, sending a simple “good morning” every day. It gave us a reason to keep moving forward—and reminded us we weren’t alone. We also knew we didn’t want anyone else to go through this, if we could help it. One day, Lance texted an idea about starting a foundation to help others, and that message became the beginning of what we are doing today. www.jacobdrapermemorialfund.org

Through the Jacob Draper Memorial Foundation we award at least one scholarship each year to a graduating senior at C.F. Brewer High School—Jacob’s alma mater along with much of our family’s—and we donate to suicide awareness and prevention organizations. Our annual golf tournament is our main fundraiser so come on out, help a good cause, and enjoy a day on the course.
