Playing 4 Petway Golf Outing

Saturday, October 8, 2022

Sandra Petway, the first black female coach at Rutgers University, started the Track & Field program in the early 1970's. Sandee, to her friends, was hit head on in July, 2021, and broke her neck at C5/6, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down. She has limited mobility in her upper body and is presently in a motorized chair. The outing profits are intended to supplement the daily living expenses for her continued care.

The 2022 Playing 4 Petway golf outing will be held in conjunction with Rutger’s 50th anniversary of the Title IX celebration of its female letterwinners. There will be a special recognition of Rutgers’ female letterwinners, both past and present, during halftime of the Rutgers vs. Nebraska football game on Oct. 7th, as well as other activities before the game and during the weekend.
