As we enter our 7th Playmaker Golf Gala and Dinner, we have been blessed with a long standing relationship with Harrison Phillips now with the New York Jets and former Walter Peyton Man of the Year. Playmakers salute partners boxings Tony "The Tiger" Lopez, Baseball's Randy Lerch, ESPN'S Trevor Matich as well as my Aztec buddy and former 49er, Rudy Castallinos. 5 years ago, I was honored to meet Sacramento's own, Ian Book. Ian is an Oak Ridge graduate, Notre Dame's winningest quarterback in Irish history. Ian flies in rare air in all he does beginning with his character and heart for lost kids.
This year we are thanking and recognizing our Woodland Hero, Craig Penrose. Craig was on the Bronco Superbowl appearance "a few years ago" and has served Playmakers for years. We have created Penrose's Playmakers who he supports in a variety of ways. Our event, while still "grass roots" is one of the best golf events in The City. The reason our event is so well run and fun is due to the efforts of an amazing woman at Dixon Golf, Chris Bassett and her AMAZING team.
