Founded on May 20, 2010, by the Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Fortitude Foundation, Inc. is a dedicated 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to:

• Provide financial resources to fund programs, projects, and scholarships that enhance the standard of living for all people
• Enhance the quality of life by promoting educational achievement, economic development, and physical and mental health
• Promote the support of critical issues that impact our community
• Support the community by securing grants and scholarships to administer programs and projects
