Camp Hodia is Idaho's only residential camp for kids with diabetes. For many campers, it's their first time away from home. Who are the Meridian Lions?
The Meridian Lions are a group of dedicated local citizens from diverse professions who have come together to serve our community through collective efforts. Founded on October 5, 1938, by former District Governor Lion Rulon Dunn, the club has been an integral part of Meridian, Idaho, evolving with the city from a small population of 500 to what is now one of the fastest-growing cities in the Treasure Valley.
Our mission is encapsulated in the motto "We Serve," reflecting our commitment to addressing the unique and pressing needs of our local community as well as contributing to the global efforts of Lions International. Our projects often focus on areas that receive less attention from other civic organizations, ensuring we fill critical gaps in service and support.
One of our top priorities is combating diabetes, which is why our charity golf tournament holds such significance for us. Through events like this, we raise awareness and funds to support diabetes education, prevention, and treatment initiatives, making a meaningful impact both locally and beyond.
