The proceeds of the Annual J. William McLafferty Memorial Tournament will go directly to St. Raphael School. Judge McLafferty was a devoted Catholic, Knight of Columbus and steward of education. The Knights of Columbus Council 5300 provides administrative support of the tournament, but does not share in any of the tournament’s income.

Goleta Valley Knight of Columbus Council 5300 was organized in 1962. The Knights have played an integral part in the life of St. Raphael’s Parish. The men of the Knights donate their time and talent to many of the Church’s programs. The Knights provide financial support Youth Ministry, St. Vincent de Paul Society charitable works, the Parish School, Special Olympics, Food Bank, disabled persons, and crisis pregnancy agencies. The Knights work with  the Blood Bank to have Blood Drives at St. Raphael Church. The Council offers family-oriented events for its members such as Sunday breakfasts, Lenten fish frys,  and picnics on Memorial Day and Labor Day
